Hey, That's My Domain Name!

The one thing we have learned is that it is ESSENTIAL to buy a domain name for any production you plan on staging. There are a few slick cyber squatters in the theatre business that simply wait for shows to announce and then scoop up their domain name. It boils my blood because I think it is such an unethical practice, but unfortunately it is a reality.

If you have a name that is controlled by a cyber squatter, consider this case just settled for Google. While their case wasn't specifically about cyber squatting, it does show that the courts are considering the rights of businesses over the practice of sleezy cyber squatters.
