"Web Surfing For Fun" on the Rise

Well, the old rule of thumb that people have 'direction' when surfing the web may no longer hold true. According to a new study, the combination of broadband saturation in U.S. homes paired with compelling online content has lead to a significant rise in Internet users who surf the Web with no specific intent.

Online marketing has traditionally been based on the concept that people use the web with a sense of direction in mind. It could be to order tickets, conduct online banking or emailing friends.

This new research confirms that people are becoming more accustomed to viewing and embracing online content.
