We’ve said it time and time again but it’s clear that the web is becoming more and more integrated with how people consume media. Research clearly indicates that we live in a ‘multi-tasking world’ and people consume their media the same way. According to a new report, 54% of respondents reported “typically” watching TV while online. In addition over 40% report listening to some kind of radio programming. Only 15% said that they go online without participating in other activities.
What does this say to us? The explosion in online usage doesn’t necessarily equate to an increase in spending in your online advertising. This is a very small piece of the overall approach that is needed to have a strong online presence. It say’s you need to be very strategic in all levels of a consumers sales cycle. Can they find you in a search engine? Does the website communicating the strengths of your show effectively? Are they quickly and easily able to purchase tickets? It’s a very interesting read as it covers many other trends in Internet advertising and usage.
