A tourist walking through Times Square sees your billboard, notices the URL and enters it into their cell phone to learn more. A consumer opens up the NY Times Arts & Leisure in a Starbucks, sees your website address and enters it into their cell phone to purchase tickets. A consumer sitting in traffic is listening to a radio spot and hears your commercial and enters the URL into their cell phone to learn more about the show. This is the potential future of advertising in a ‘mobile-friendly’ world.
There is a ton of hype around mobile marketing right now. One big topic of discussion is how and when users will begin surfing the web using their mobile device. The fact is that there is still major connectivity and hardware obstacles that need to be solved in order to get mobile users surfing online but once these issues are resolved, your web presence will only become that much more important.
